Mixed Race = Beautiful Girls

"Would you want to look Eurasian? - beauty & fashion"

This would be a popular suggestion "back in the day," like the 2000s.

I think they are calling any mixed Asian a "Eurasian" or "hapa."  "Hapa" is the correct term.  Eurasians are considered a type of superrace.  It was prestigious around 1990.

It says Eurasian:

Frozen - Impact on Society

"Stores, Targets, Disney stores down in Disney all sell out of Frozen characters, stuffed animals, clothing, toys, etc"

Yup, imagine what it's like in NYC.  It's amazing some people like Anna.  They probably don't care as much.

Child Stars

link

"If the parents are able to keep every other aspect of the child's life controlled and normal and there are continued boundaries and rules"
...

"If you don't have a really stable parental unit that's setting limits ahead of time, then the roles get flipped easily and the child becomes the parent. They're not ready for the responsibility. And you see kids spin out a little bit."

It seems we've lost them.

It's supposedly "not enough" if kids don't have parents.

"Childhood is about learning boundaries and figuring out how to cooperate, but famous youngsters are shuttled around by adults who tend to their every need. Meanwhile, the success of multi-million-dollar concerts and movies rests squarely on their performances. The stars are often aware of this loss of innocence even as they’re living through it"

It seems very true.  Just know we all die someday.  Life will pass you by in not concentrating on reaching your goals with an "s" at the end of the word.  I have things others don't have but can't make myself happy because people are mean to me.  I know I was happier before, but we all learn we can't all have so many things.  So, just do what you're supposed to do to meet your needs and give yourself a fair shot.  Like, if you want to be noticed, pimp your profile, Twitter or whatever you believe in, and keep a blog.  I know that doesn't "answer all questions."  If you want anyone to take an extra look, you have to be available, too, tho!  Does your picture say it all about you or are you more of an intellectual?  Do you need a website to say it?  Can you keep a blog?  You don't have to post every day, but you can post as much as you want.

"Childhood is about finding out who you are and being able to relate to others"

People think they have to grow up, but the secret underneath it all is non-famous kids born in the late 1990s also have it all.

"They can't mess up."

It's not hard to not mess up on big things, like illegal drugs, unless you just hate the world or haven't had *** possibly or don't receive good signals or something.  There are more interesting ways to mess up, too, tho.

"Wilson also points out that most adolescents and young adults go through a rebellious phase"

It's because it's a hormone overload/need.

Celebrity Life

link

It's like being interested in royalty.  I am gonna be an empress for Halloween.

link

"Celebrities are a self-selected group of narcissists. Whereas it is certainly true that some individuals decide to pursue acting or singing careers"

True, whoever Ellen approves of, aha ha ha.  Is this what I am going to get in the end, right?

"The extraordinary attention that is lavished on celebrities (not to mention the outlandish sums of money) makes it easy to succumb to one's hype. People line up for hours to get a glimpse of Tom Cruise coming out of his limousine"
..

"Take a narcissist, and feed his or her ego"

"it is not difficult to guess that Tom Cruise starts to actually believe that he is a superhero (rather than playing one in the movies)."

Things like this should be provided for young teens and other youth in their 20s.  Instead, sad to say, people like Ellen who just want to be there for you gets prodded like the baby.

I feel like it's the French revolution.

"Why did I cheat death when so many others die? What is so special about me that my life was spared?"

That's why I was called a schizo, sad to say.  Not pointing fingers!

"Hence, they "cure" mental illness; they "eradicate" autism

Postmodernism, the most virulent of anti-science dogma, proposes that all viewpoints are welcome and none is privileged. This creates a democratization of opinions. It is apparently "arrogant" to think that psychiatrists, physicists, and epidemiologists might know more about their areas of expertise than say Oprah or Jenny McCarthy. Most celebrities have at best graduated from high school. Hence, it is quite extraordinary that they should feel sufficiently knowledgeable as to "contribute" to complex issues in physics, psychiatry, or medicine."

Well, I thought it was a good idea not to take school so seriously when you seem to have nothing going for you.

Breaking Up

link

It's not always a person you break up with but more of a situation.  True, you break up with people or in the other way they break up with you.

One Of These Is Your Breakup, Because This Is Every Breakup Ever

Don't ask questions, just run.

..

If it's you and not me, and I'm still fine with you, then why are you breaking up with me?

There's always the other option, and people will encourage you to break up with things to do other things that aren't as good to you.

When someone wants to break up with you, it's best not to ask questions. You should instead grab everything you can -- your dignity included -- and SPRINT in the opposite direction.
Don't stop running until you see different stars in the sky.
I just didn't understand.  I found it rude.

Not Getting Along

link

'the dorky kids'

they would also never choose to hang out with each other if they had a wider pool of friends to choose from.

People do use "dorky" men as a last resort to have someone cute so they don't sit and rot alone.

They don't have the social skills to get along with each other

For the most part even awkward people are put off by socially inappropriate behavior in others. Not everyone who falls into the admittedly vague category of 'awkward' has off-putting tendencies, but some do. For example, they may be too blunt, strange, argumentative, or condescending. They might also be carrying around the wounds of being bullied and ostracized, and be reflexively guarded, suspicious, and hostile around other people. If you put a bunch of people like this together they're going to rub each other the wrong way.

That's what my friends from up north are like.  You'd find that out if you met them.  They're Floridians now.  They were all crazy about "what you did" like in a secret way like we should already "know something."  I don't mean to disrespect anyone if it's something serious.  I know they're mean to me, tho.

Dysfunctional social rules can develop within a group

If a group of awkward people do end up becoming friends social rules may form that create a more grating atmosphere for everyone. Sometimes these rules are inherited from larger subcultures. For example, a group of guys who are all fans of a certain TV show may have the rule, "You should feel in constant competition with everyone over who knows more about the show".

That makes sense.  I experienced a lotta bullying online about being a fan of Johnny Depp.  It's like they had a restrictive club.  I haven't gotten very far online.

If you get a bunch of so-called awkward or dorky people together

They probably won't get very far but might go ***.

Hollywood Narcissists

link

The psychology of narcissism
But what is narcissism? The basic idea is being obsessively self-absorbed, always putting your own needs first, having poor empathy or appreciation for other people’s needs etc. But what is behind someone operating that way?
I think the people on Ellen are generous socially but act like they're really self-absorbed.  I imagine they are letting it out to the TV, thinking it's either a big deal or no one cares enough to wanna care..

DIY Self-Esteem program

They’re charming enough to attract friends, associates and lovers — only to drop them as soon as better prospects show up. They need the best table in the house...

I am a little guilty here as I hold some distance from my parents in different ways.

It's interesting that Britney supposedly had no friends, other than my Asian Pilates trainer at Tulane, a university in New Orleans.

I find it somewhat expected yet horrific that actors just "use" people and don't really like them..  So, what should we do?

Yet some of these seemingly overconfident people are actually in considerable psychological trouble, suffering what psychiatrists call narcissistic personality disorder, one of the most self-destructive and difficult-to-treat conditions in the lexicon of mental illness.

We could have them get help so less people rub off as suicidal to themselves or others.

We all know that movie stars, professional athletes, rich people and politicians often act like complete jackasses.. The cause, he says, is acquired situational narcissism -psychiatric professor

They aren't ready to be out there.  They seem to have officially ended Hollywood or at least for people who aren't teenagers nor their Late Boomer parents.

People who aspire to stardom tend to be more narcissistic than others, but they don’t develop a true narcissistic personality disorder until they begin to achieve success

Sometimes, people are offended by fancier people, like they're cheating out of life.

The more I grow, the less I become this egocentric thing that is prone to anger and hatred and all this other stuff.. The job of the creative person is to get out of the way.

I guess you need to separate yourself from people as much as possible if you feel vulnerable and later go back.

“Even if you have high ego self-esteem, there’s always hidden fear underneath it. It’s always there to compensate for the fear you feel of not being good enough or perhaps failing. So you need to play a role of being big to compensate for fear of failure that’s deep down.

Yes, there probably is a great fear of failing rather than being your normal self in some situations. You can't expect anything of anyone.  People are fallible.

Facebook Decline

But if that is where you go for your daily ego boost, that’s not healthy either.

It's funny how they went out and said this.  It just makes so much tense in modern context.

People live to have me removed as a person's friend who I knew.

Accepting Yourself Racially..

link

Stages of Racial Identity Development

Many white adults have given little consideration to the meaning of their own racial group membership.

Whites do less for their own race yet need the most reassurance.

link
  • Celebrate multicultural heritages. Due to interracial marriages, blended families and international/transracial adoptions, the number of mixed-race families is increasing. Encourage multiculturalism by embracing the language, traditions and customs of every family member. If your child is multiracial, encourage him or her to celebrate and recognize all parts of his or her heritage. Support your child by helping him or her develop coping skills to handle questions and comments about his or her racial background.
Multiracials need to be accepted as a racial group rather than no group.

Being European versus American

'Westernness' could be defined by people who are ethnically or culturally European, in other words people of European descent or speaking a European language as their mother-tongue.

These are of course the major trends, and exception exit everywhere. Irish and Polish people, for instance, tend to be closer to the American mainstream than to some of their fellow Europeans. Canadians are somewhere in between, sometimes more European, but often closer to their southern neighbours.

Traditions like baby showers and bachelor(ette)'s night with strip-teasers originated in the USA, and even though some made their way to Europe, at least in some countries or social circles, they are still regarded as typically American. For most European this is something they only see in American TV series and movies. The same is true of Thanksgiving and Halloween (although the latter has exported itself pretty successfully to Europe and East Asia from the late 1990's onwards). American marketing strategies have also given rise to nationwide phenomena like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which, as potent as they are in the US, hardly have any equivalent in European countries.

Schools and universities are free in most European countries.

They all seem just as good.

Autism

link

"Kids with autism often can't make connections that other kids make easily. For example, when people smile, you know they feel happy or friendly; when people look mad, you can tell by their face or their voice. But many kids who have autism spectrum disorders have trouble understanding what emotions look like and what another person is thinking. They might act in a way that seems unusual, and it can be hard to understand why they're doing it."

In some ways, I do inappropriate things as a reaction.  However, I come here to say that I used to wave and say, "hey," to people in 1997 and 1998 when I was in 6th grade just before moving from Florida to Louisiana.  I had no "good" friends.. but wasn't "unpopular," at all, in a way.

Mothers and Daughters

http://psychcentral.com/lib/15-insights-on-improving-mother-daughter-relationships/

This is probably applicable to any relationship, especially between an older woman and a younger girl/lady..

"Don’t wait for the other person to make the first move"

True, get a blog, and start letting out your feelings in a productive way..  You'll probably touch on these feelings..

"you aren’t chained to their actions"
"Interestingly, this can still alter your relationship."

This is called being independent and not relying too much on others.  It was a common thing when I was a teenager.

It seems more I'm in older brother sister relationships than ever the idea of a mother or father, which is fine in a lot of ways or how I usually/used to try to function.

"Set boundaries."

No one listens.  The lack of boundaries is an opportunity to turn the other person inside out or "to get it over with," if you will.

Heartbreak

Heartbreak happens in many forms, not just in breaking up..

http://elitedaily.com/dating/spectrums-love/770434/

"Despite everything this person did to you, you would do anything for him or her, if need be."

People tend to cut others off when others need them more..  (It's because it's like "what" a master needs of his slave.  The person cutting the other off is the slave master.  For the other, it's like becoming a "slave to love."  It's a mystery why it happens, but some people know.  One idea I have is racism.)

Children in the Arts

Watch out for children in the arts.

I did the arts, and it didn't get me anywhere in the arts nor anything but the journey.  Am I ripped off of life?  Some people like more than one thing, like art and music.

Did you forget about "some form of exercise?"

What about all those gymnasts who gain weight as adults?  Like "veterans of war?"

People Who Can Do Whatever They Want

French
link

Ellen DeGeneres's last name is French, and her dad is from England, I think.  It seems from the look of it that French people can do whatever they want, a little fairer than Germany.  Like New Orleans, South in the water.  Ellen is from a New Orleans suburb and I think has a mom from the city.  LOL, my dad's mom is the "noble" farmer.  I wish I could be seen for who I've become and not my family.

Europeans embody much to strive for.  Ellen DeGeneres's dad is European, I think, but I'm not sure.  I just read it online somewhere.  Her mom is New Orleanian, I think.  She is from a suburb of New Orleans.
